This past weekend friends of mine here in the UK went for a long walk in the countryside. In other words, they went hiking
Doing the same in Australia, then it's bushwalking 🥾
But in New Zealand it is tramping🚶
Now why does this matter?
Because in Australia and New Zealand, people can get particularly vocal (especially local bushwalkers or trampers) if the term 'hiking' is used in place of the local term.
Think globally, act locally!
