There’s someone far bigger in the Balkans whose birthday is also on 14 June…
Ceca Ražnatović née Veličković, the biggest Turbo folk star in Serbia and the Balkans.

Let’s check out Ceca’s CV…
She’s lauded as the “Srpska majka” (“Serbian Mother”) by the gushing Serbian press and her millions of devoted fans. She’s the widow of 1990s warlord Željko Ražnatović, the former president of the football club Obilić, has been convicted of embezzlement, been in jail for illegal arms possession, the star of her own reality TV show that morphed into a talk show where guests sing her songs, and is the proud holder of Turbo folk’s biggest ever hit – Kukavica (“Coward”) from 1993.
Ceca is one for celebrating her birthday in grand style too. Back in the day when singers in the region would release an album a year, hers would always come out on her birthday.
And let’s not forget her giant outdoor Belgrade concerts that have also been on or near her birthday (2002, 2006, 2013), where more than 100,000 people turned up for each, far bigger than any cage fights in the White House lawns.
Talking of which, now this would’ve been quite the coup – they should’ve got Ceca’s son Veljko, who’s a boxer, to be one of the cage fighters at Donald’s 80th birthday bash. They really missed out there!
But the similarities don’t end there. As the Serbian tabloid press was quick to point out during the 2024 US presidental elections, it’s not just Ceca and Donald Trump who share birthdays. The Balkans’ truly biggest pop-folk star, the iconic Lepa Brena, has her birthday on 20 October. Well, guess who else has a birthday on that day? None other than Kamala Harris!
All this a major coincidence? I say not! 😄
